What is Sodium Chloride?

Chloride is white and odorless crystal powder. Melting point is 801ºC,boiling point is 1465ºC, it is slightly soluble in ethanol, propyl alcohol and . It becomes plasma . It is easily soluble in water, the solubility is  35.9g(roomtemperature).

NaCl forms colloid when dispersing in ethanol, the solubility decrease because of the hydrogen chloride. It is deliquescent and tastes salty. It is easily soluble in water, soluble in glycerin.

1. It can be used for food seasoing and pickled fish and vegetables, also be used as a raw materal for seasoning and refined salt. Favourings, nutrients, preservatives, spices, dough conditioners. 

2. It has been used as a isotonicity regulator, salting-out agent and diluent for tablets and capsules, etc. 

3. It is used as a dyeing and printing fabrics, glazing pottery, in making soap, and for curing hides. Sodium Chloride is a component of many freezing mixtures
