1.Brief Introduction
Trisodium phosphate is White or colorless crystals, efflorescent in air, easily soluble in water but not in organic solution. Its water solution is alkaline. PH value of 1% solution is 12.1, relative density at 1.62, melting point is 73.4ºC Uses Used as a water softening agent, cleaning agent in electroplating, color fixer in fabric dyeing and flux in enamel ware manufacturing and so on.

3. Application
(1) . Used as water softener and detergent in chemical, textile, printing and dyeing, papermaking, power generation and other industries, boiler anti-scale agent, water softener in paper dyeing, pH buffer for production of varnished paper adhesive, solid during printing and dyeing Colorant, mercerizing enhancer for fabrics, anti-brittleness agent for thread making. Metallurgical industry for chemical degreasing, decontamination, as an excellent accelerator in photographic developing solutions. Detergent for tooth cleaners and bottle holders.
(2). Coagulant for rubber latex. Syrup purifier. Phosphate plays a role in quality improvement in food processing, for example, in meat products, it maintains the water-holding capacity of meat and improves binding force, so as to reduce the loss of nutrients in meat and preserve the tenderness of meat. It is also used as emulsifier, nutritional supplement and quality improver in food processing. It is the raw material for the preparation of lye water for pasta, and is also used in the refining of sugar and the manufacture of α-starch. It is also used as a detergent for food bottles, cans, etc.
(3). As a quality improver, it can improve the complex metal ions, pH value, and ionic strength of food, thereby improving the binding force and water holding capacity of food. China stipulates that it can be used for cheese, the maximum usage is 5g/kg; the maximum usage in Western-style ham, meat, fish, shrimp and crab is 3.0g/kg; the maximum usage in canned food, juice, beverages and dairy products is 0.5g /kg.
(4). Solid trisodium phosphate (TSP) is a strong base and weak acid salt, with strong alkalinity and high solubility, stable chemical properties, and can be stored for a long time. Add TSP to the spray water of the containment spray system (EAS) instead of NaOH can adjust the pH value of the spray liquid, effectively remove the iodine gas released from the leaked cooling water into the containment, avoid the injury of the strong alkali to the staff, and is easy to clean up after the accident.
