Glyceryl monostearate is a yellowish waxy solid, this product does not dissolve in water, soluble in hot oil, paraffin, ethanol, chloroform, acetone, ethyl ether. In food, cosmetics as emulsifier and surfactant, in transparent PVC aggregate as a lubricant.

Applications

 

Application 

It can be used as emulsifier, co-emulsifier, stabiliser and preservative. It can be used as emulsifier of industrial silk oil and lubricant of textile; used as dripping agent and anti-fogging agent in plastic film; used as lubricant and anti-static agent in plastic processing; used as suppository base and drug carrier in pharmaceutical industry. It is also used to formulate cosmetic paste, cream and emulsion. The reference dosage in dairy products, margarine, pastry is 0.3% to 0.5%, and the dosage of defoamer in soy sauce, soya bean milk and lactic acid drink is 0.1%.
